Our history
Founded in 2008, the Maryland Umbrella Group was established as a Prince George's County 501(c)(3) non profit organization
Our mission
The mission of the Maryland Umbrella Group (MUG), a non-profit located on the campus of St. Margaret of Scotland, is to provide the community supports that strengthen families, students, and seniors. Over the past fifteen years, (even in the midst of COVID), MUG has provided, for the most vulnerable and precious in our communities, the following services.

Carol McCreary-Maddox: Founder
Christal Batey: Founder
Cynthia Batey: Tutor
Isaiah Maddox: Game designer and Teacher working as Website designer and Tutor.
Christina Nichols is a student at the University of Maryland where she is pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Atmospheric and Oceanic Science. She has worked with the Maryland Umbrella Group for almost two years. She loves to travel and spend time with friends and family.
